Fall is one of my favourite times for mini sessions!
The golden leaves, crisp air, and cozy vibes make it the perfect season to capture couples enjoying the fleeting warmth before winter sets in. But sometimes, a mini session becomes much more than just a photoshoot. That’s exactly what happened with Avery and Tori!
When Tori first booked wanting a simple fall mini session to capture some updated photos of them and Avery. They had been together for a while and their chemistry was undeniable—playful, sweet, and so full of love. What Avery didn’t initially mention was a little twist in the plan: this mini session was about to become a lifelong memory.
We planned the session for a beautiful fall afternoon. The colours were in their peak, and the leaves crunched beneath our feet as we explored the location. Avery and Tori were naturals in front of the camera, laughing and holding hands. Every moment felt effortless, and it wasn’t long before Avery gave me the signal—time to set the surprise in motion.
I asked Tori to turn back to back across the road from each other while Avery got down on one knee behind her. When Tori turned back around, the look on her face was pure magic. Shock, joy, and excited all at once. Avery, with his voice steady and eyes full of love, asked Tori to spend forever with him. And of course, Tori said yes!
Capturing these candid moments—the trembling hands, the shared laughter, the tears of joy—was nothing short of an honour. What started as a simple fall mini session transformed into a story of two people committing to a lifetime of love and adventure.
After the proposal, we continued taking some newly-engaged shots. The energy shifted in the best way possible. There was a new kind of glow between them, and every look and smile felt more meaningful. The session wrapped up with them nestled together.
Every session has a story to tell, but some hold an extra layer of magic. Avery and Tori’s surprise engagement was a reminder that love stories are full of beautiful surprises. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two wonderful souls!
